JOB TITLE: YOUTH MINISTER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the full-time Youth Minister at Saint Joseph's
Episcopal Church, you will coordinate and maintain programs which engage
our youth in 6th - 12th grade, nurture their spiritual development, and
support them through their journey to adulthood. You will exemplify the
character of a healthy individual with enthusiasm for life!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Programming: Coordinate programs, facilitators, and curricula for 6th - 12th grade, including Rite 13, Journey to Adulthood, YAC and Wednesday Night High School Madness.
- Fundraising: Partner with volunteers to develop the necessary fundraisers for activities not covered by the annual budget. Maintain proper records.
- Special Events: Develop and organize special events beyond our regular curricula ranging anywhere from soulful to zany and whimsical. Help plan and assist with fun activities once each month for each age group.
- Communication: Maintain constant and effective communication for all parties involved in Youth Ministry by way of phone calls, emails, myspace bulletins and a monthly newsletter.
- Youth House Facility Maintenance: Treat the youth house with the respect and appreciation of your own home. Guide the youth to help maintain the care of the facility.
other responsibilities:
- Counsel youth and parents.
- Attend our 10:15 am Sunday service with the youth.
- Participate in the occasional planning of worship involving youth.
- Be an active member on the Youth Commission.
- Recruit and train volunteers.
- Support past youth group members.
- Plan and participate on the pilgrimage to Scotland & England with J2A youth & adults.
- Participate with youth & other adult volunteers on mission trips abroad & within the USA.
- Become a pledging member of Saint Joseph's Episcopal Church.
- Prior Youth Work Experience
- Confirmed Episcopalian (or willing to become one)
- College Graduate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Prior Counseling Training and Experience
